People Are So Incredibly Stupid

It boggles my mind how incredibly stupid people are. Here is a phone conversation I had at work.

Me: Thank you for calling. This is Cameron, how may I direct your call?
Lady: You can direct it to the number I called.
Me: [pause] I'm sorry? Who were you trying to reach?
Lady: My husband!
Me: What is your husband's name? (thinking her husband must be an employee at my office)
Lady: Who is this?!
Me: This is [name of my company].
Lady: What is [name of company]. I work with AT&T, not [name of company].
Me: It sounds like you must have dialed a wrong number...
Lady: I don't think so. Bye.

I hate people.
