Marshallese LOL-speak

It took me a while to get used to the newfangled way kids these days talk, what with their text speech and the LOL's and what have you. It took me a while, but I can understand that abbreviated "LOL-speak" if you wish to call it that.

Today however, I discovered that the Marshallese have their own version of this type of writing. In proper writing, if a Marshallese person wanted to ask you how you were, he or she would say "ejet mour?". Well, today I was greeted on facebook chat by "s8 mour?". S8 doesn't even really sound like ejet, but whatever. Kids these days.

(I also learned today that "newfangled" is a real word and not something that old people made up. Who knew?)
