Update

I thought I should write a post just to clear up what will be going on in life over this next semester (since I know everyone is dying to know. Or, at least some people might be mildly curious to know).

School has been weighing down heavily on me for the past few semesters. I've always had a hard time handling stress, but lately it has become nearly impossible to deal with it. This past semester I began experiencing anxiety attacks that basically kept me from completing a lot of the school work I needed to complete. I should have asked for help sooner, but I kept it to myself because I didn't want to seem weak. After discussing it with my parents, we deemed it wisest for me to take it easier next semester, and I deemed it wisest to try my luck at a different school.

So this semester, instead of taking a full credit load at BYU, I will be taking 3 or 4 credits at UVU.

I'll admit that I kind of didn't want to let everyone know about this academic move. It's kind of embarrassing for me to own up to my shortcomings. At the same time though, I knew I'd be getting a lot of questions from family and friends about how school is going and when I'm going to graduate, so I thought I'd tackle those questions all at once and get it over with. School is going to be fine. It's going to take me longer to graduate than I'd originally planned, but I think my current plans will be healthier for me in the long run.

Mary Tyler Moore

I've never watched an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, but I love the intro because I want to have my hat freeze in air when I throw it up someday.

Things I Love Right Now

One night, after going to Barnes and Noble, we didn't know where to go eat, and Coney's was right there, so we went there. Their burgers are incredible. I didn't even know they had burgers. I've still yet to have the frozen custard, actually, but I intend to shortly.

I love Vicks 44 Custom Care for Chesty Cough. Oh goodness does this stuff work. I had a bad experience with NyQuil once where it didn't make me sleep but instead kept me awake and very dizzy, so I've been wary of cough syrups, but this Vicks stuff is gold. It stops me from coughing almost instantaneously. Excellent.

16 Things

Directions: Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a note with 16 random things, shortcomings, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 16 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. You have to tag the person who tagged you.

1. I'm colorblind, and I like it.

2. The only thing I hate about having a cold is having people afraid of getting germs from you. I actually like coughing, I just don't want to get disgusted stares from everyone.

3. Some people think I'm smart, but I'm actually quite stupid.

4. I work in a dead zoo.

5. I'm extremely picky about Christmas music, and many people have gotten mad at me for it. Just because a song is for Christmas doesn't mean it's good. I generally listen to regular music through the holidays.

6. I feel like I don't go to BYU because I only ever go to two buildings on the edge of campus. I hardly ever walk across campus anymore.

7. I like Spam but hate ham.

8. I've gained over 20 pounds in this last year. I used to have to push out my stomach so my ribs wouldn't show through my shirt. Now I suck in my stomach to hide my gut. Sad.

9. I occasionally have moments where I'm out with my friends and suddenly realize I'm the only white one there (Kyle makes these moments happen less often now. Bless that pasty white child). I really like being the only white person around.

10. I absolutely hate watching the local news, but I like Anderson Cooper, Campbell Brown, Keith Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow.

11. In connection with #5, I hate the Beach Boys, and absolutely despise their Christmas music.

12. It bothers me that apparently nobody in my memoir class uses a stapler but me.

13. I like to shock people sometimes, but only if they have no influence on society.

14. I actually like Provo.

15. Since I dyed my hair red I've actually had people ask me if the "carpet matches the drapes."

16. I staunchly refuse to tag people in notes like this.
